Select a healthy, correctly identified mother plant free of scale, mealybugs, rot, and suspicious lesions. Choose a basal pup preferably carrying its own roots. Remove the plant from its container or expose the attachment point, then separate the pup with a sanitized blade while preserving roots. Allow fresh wounds to dry and callus in a shaded, ventilated location for approximately 1–3 days, longer in humid conditions. Pot into dry or barely moist sterile, fast-draining succulent media with the crown above the surface. Delay heavy watering until wounds have sealed; afterward, irrigate lightly and allow the medium to dry substantially between waterings.
